The Pelham Boys Varsity Hockey season is in full swing, having their lofty expectations being met with their recent performances on the ice. Led by Senior captains Owen Duffy and Ryan Zabatta, the team boasts an impressive 11-6 record. The team defeated rivals Rye 3-1, and despite a close loss to Sectional favorites Suffern, the team cruised past Fordham Prep 7-4, with 6 different goal scorers. This success was followed by a 4 goal performance by Junior Matthew Veteri in their 5-1 vs Pawling, and a 4-3 win on Senior night vs Byram Hills. However, their expectations are still far from completed. The team is looking to win section 1 for the first time in 2 years, with Junior Matthew Veteri crediting the teams culture for its continuous success “Before each game we say family for a reason, because on and off the ice we are one.”
