The softball team took a trip to Florida over spring break to compete in four preseason games. They faced off against three teams from New York and one from California, finishing with a record of 2-2. The girls also visited several fun spots in Florida, including Disney World and the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

“We did very well in Florida and improved tremendously as a team,” sophomore Cassie Ventura, an outfielder for the varsity softball team said. “Being surrounded by one another for six days really tied us all together, especially being in the fun atmosphere at Disney.”

In his 21 years as head of the varsity softball team, Coach Maley has done an excellent job of pushing the team to new heights this season. He is the driving force behind many of the girls’ motivation to continue playing softball for PMHS.

“In our preseason games in Florida, our offense was much improved from last year. Another strength of our team is that this is a great group of girls who pull for each other and genuinely want their team to succeed,” Coach Maley said.
