For the first time since 2007, Pelham’s own varsity field hockey team has taken the league title, ending the regular season with an extraordinary record of fourteen wins and two losses. Fueling up for success in the postseason, the Pelicans took a two to zero win over the Rye Garnets in their final regular season game, seeking revenge after their close one to zero loss on October 2. With an amazing season and record, the team went on to take the second seed in the playoff rankings.

“We are doing well because we are playing as a team…” two-year Pelham coach Anmolak Singh Randhawa said. “Everyone is giving two-hundred percent on the field and every player is hungry for the win. [I am] proud of this team…”

Taking one game at a time, the team is focused on their quarterfinal match-up against one of their greatest competitors, the Rye Garnets.

“I feel good about what’s to come in playoffs,” senior captain Madelyn Dunbar said. “We have worked really hard to get to where we are and there hasn’t been a game where we struggled to play with the other team. Everyone is really hard working and talented and our future is bright. The league title is just the beginning.”
