At the most recent Board of Education meeting, Julia Chung was appointed as the new Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services for the Pelham School District. She will be responsible for managing special education and guidance, ensuring that students with exceptional needs have an opportunity to excel.

Chung joins the district with an impressive résumé that highlights her experience as an educator. She has been the Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the Rye School District since 2015 and served as Assistant Principal of Rye High School for five years.

”Throughout the entire interview process, Ms. Chung’s strong communication skills, dedication to meeting the needs of all learners, and overall breadth of experience shined,” Superintendent Champ said.

Last year, Rosemary Matthews retired from the position after a 13-year tenure. Susan Lockhart filled in as Interim Assistant Superintendent in her place and will continue to serve until March 4.
