On November 14, the Model UN Club traveled to Montreal to compete in the Secondary Schools UN Conference (SSUNS), which lasted through November 17. The conference was hosted by McGill University and welcoming high schools from all over the world.

In the past, Pelham has been very successful at collegiate competitions like these. This year, Pelham competed in the smaller schools group with around twenty other schools. The club won outstanding small delegation for its collective performance at the conference. In addition, members were commemorated for their performances. Seniors Stephen Tahbaz and Isabelle Anderson were awarded with Best Delegate awards, senior Nicholas Lieggi won the Book Award, and junior Eliza Bratone earned an honorable mention.

Lieggi said, “Hearing about the awards from Mr. Marcotullio was a very prideful experience to see because I got to see my friends and me win such high honors.”

The club has upcoming conferences at Columbia University and in Washington D.C. and is looking forward to what is to come in the future.
