Senior News Staff Share Their Memories & Say Goodbye

Camilla O’Keefe, Senior, Features Editor

There are many amazing memories I have from PMHS, but mostly I’ve reminisced about the little things. Just the other day I was cleaning my desk and I found my nine-page Renaissance Person Project from Mr. Kelly’s 9th grade class and a late pass from Mrs. Mann. I cleaned my backpack and found a receipt for one of many bagel-and-iced-coffee duos that Donny gave me (my sustenance for surviving the school day). Then I remembered all the little things about high school that I loved and took for granted. The hour long NPR-quality Scott podcasts, Carmody’s obsession with John Proctor, the monotone of Acocella’s voice, Lieber and his 11 o’clock ritual of snacking on bananas and cheerios, Sirico’s midnight google classroom posts, and waking up every day for 0 period chorus and being greeted with Abeshouse’s somehow perky attitude (just how someone is so bright and ready at 7:30 in the morning will still continue to baffle me til the end of time). It’s the little, quirky things that I love about PMHS, and I’m sad that it wasn’t until quarantine that I realized just how much I’m going to miss high school.

There’s an old saying that every cloud has a silver lining and I think it is still very much applicable today, for even though I am sad my senior year was cut short from Covid-19, I’m happy that I was able to at least experience it.
