Police sirens wailed and red flashing lights lit the streets surrounding one of Pelham’s most active shopping and food centers, Four Corners, after a driver collided into three of the store fronts on Wednesday, September 13 at around 6:20 p.m. Just a few hours earlier Pelham students had filled the bustling strip getting their lunches. The vehicle crashed into the side of Lenny’s Bagels, then careened into the front window of French Wine Shop, before finally coming to a stop parallel to the Four Corners Bakery after hitting their front wall.

Driver Heidi Jackson-Brown, who suffers from an unspecified illness, had passed out while driving eastbound into the parking lot. She was said to be very shaken up and disoriented due to the accident. Jackson-Brown was accompanied in the vehicle by a male, Kevin Hardimon. Their impounded vehicle was reported to have a significant amount of damage to the panel and door of the front passenger.

The police report stated that the most destruction was done to the vacant store front at 4666 Boston Post Road, with damage done to the wooden structure and the front window glass. The Bakery at Four Corners and Lenny’s Bagels only had minor damage, allowing them to carry on with their businesses.
