New to PMHS’s repertoire of clubs this year is The Feeding America Club. It was formed this school year by juniors Kate Girolamo, Sarah Kaplansky, and Elizabeth Murray. The goal of the club is to bring awareness to the hunger crisis that is going on all across America. The club is hosting a fundraiser in order to raise money for Feeding America, a larger organization that helps to bring relief to those struggling with finding the funds to eat on a daily basis.

This club’s first fundraiser will be taking place in the form of a guessing game. Students will be donating money to guess the amount of candy in a jar. As an incentive, students and staff who donate will then be entered into a raffle to win a gift card. The first place winner will receive a $100 Rockwells gift card, and there will also be a $25 Pelham Pizza gift card. A table will be set up in front of the auditorium for the remainder of this week.

“I’m really excited that we are getting started on some events for the club because it feels good to be giving back to others” said co-president Kate Girolamo.

It has been difficult for many clubs to be active this year, especially when it comes to fundraising, but they are getting creative in order to find ways to raise money for issues in which they are passionate about.
