Alyssa Purcea, Sophomore
Sophomore Alyssa Purcea is a first-year journalist for The Pel Mel. Her family consists of two loving parents, a young middle schooler named Max and a beautiful six-year-old dog named Olivia. When she is not in school studying history and English, which are her favorite subjects, she is quite the outdoors-woman filling her time with skiing and hiking ventures. In her downtime, she adventures into her writing and reading. Her favorite book is a fiction based novel called Legend by Marie Lu. Besides reading, she enjoys other forms of entertainment like movies such as The Godfather and Star Wars. Even though this is Alyssa’s first year as an official Pel Mel staff member, she has always had a passion for writing since she was little. She decided to begin writing for the school newspaper because she believes that, “In this day and age, writing real events is more important than ever.”
