Nesi Joins Staff as Head Coach of Girls Track
November 28, 2018
The 2018-2019 track season adds a new coach to the mix. The girls of the track team now have Ms. Nicki Nesi as one of their head coaches this year. Nesi is 24 years old and is a Pelham aluma. She is determined to help the girls keep up their success in their league.
Nesi attended PMHS from 2008 to 2012, where she ran for the track team for all four years and was named Athlete of the Year during her senior year.
After graduating from college, Nesi attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York for both undergraduate and graduate school. While at Marist, Nesi competed in track and cross country for five years and was the graduate assistant coach for the team last year.
She decided to take the coaching job here because she was one of Coach Leighton’s athletes in high school and feels it is a great opportunity to coach with him. She enjoyed coaching last year at Marist, and when the opportunity was presented to her she felt as though she should seize it.
This year the track team is hoping to build a strong group of middle-distance runners as well as maintain their strong presence in their league. With Nesi now on the coaching staff, the team believes they will be able to achieve their goals.
