PMHS’ varsity track team hopes to perform strongly again this season, despite the fact that some successful athletes graduated last year. This year’s team is led by senior captains Charlie Miske, who captains distance, Nora Tahbaz, Luca Rivera  and Johannes Riehl, who are in charge of sprinters, Ella Stern, who heads jumping, and Peyton Rees, who oversees shot put. Mr. Marcotulio, Ms. Nesi and Mr. Finegan all coach the team.

“I think we can achieve great things this year because we have a good group of experienced and new runners that work really hard during each and every practice,” junior race walker Emma Russello said.

Many members of this year’s spring team were apart of the girls winter track team that just recently won states for the second straight year.

“This year we have a very young team and if everyone keeps working hard all of last year’s spots can be filled,” senior athlete Grace Miske said. “Since our girls team won the league meet during the winter season, we´re hopeful we can build off that momentum and excel this spring.”

The team’s season begins on April 2nd in Byram Hills against Byram and Eastchester.
