Junior quarterback Carlo Volpe has been an integral part of the PMHS varsity football team since sophomore year, and this season has been no different. With 1,120 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns, and 2 rushing touchdowns, Volpe helped lead his team to their first Section 1 playoff opportunity since 2010. Last year, Volpe received an All-League award at the end of the season.

Carlo has been playing football since first grade and was given the opportunity by Mr. Roksvold to play quarterback freshmen year on the JV team. Now Volpe is playing his second year as the starting varsity QB.

Volpe said, “I feel that I have been able to perform well because my offensive line makes it easy for me as they have done a great job blocking for me.”

Part of the reason Volpe loves football is that it is a sport that truly allows the team to come together like no other, and creates a family-like atmosphere. His success this season has helped the team win over Harrison and Horace Greeley.

Senior Nick Senerchia said, “As a junior, Carlo has done a lot for the team. He has been a leader on and off the field along with us captains…”

Volpe looks forward to his final season next year, as his skill set will only improve, and his leadership as a rising senior will have a major impact on the team for the 2020 season.
