Seniors Oliver Tam with Katy and Allie Lange sang at the All State Chorus performance held on December 4. The seniors qualified for All State after scoring 100 on their NYSSMA performances at an All State Level 6.
Accompanied by chorus teacher Maria Abeshouse, the four took a trip to Rochester to perform in the Eastman Theater, a part of the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.
“It was super fun because everyone there was so committed to creating the best performance. Having all those people that were so passionate about making music and so talented in the same room was an amazing experience.” Oliver Tam said.

The ensemble performed romantic era pieces like Sehnsucht by Brahms as well as more contemporary pieces, like I’ll Be On My Way by Shawn Kirchner. There were songs in different languages like TaReKiTa by Reena Esmail and Sanctus and Lacrymosa from Zdenek Lukas Requiem.
