Midnight Run Club Organizes Winter Clothing Drive

Caroline Michailoff, Co-Editor-in-Chief, Senior

The Midnight Run Club held a Winter Clothing Drive during January and February. They collected used jackets, sweatshirts, shoes/boots and gloves in labeled donation boxes near the auditorium and in room 112. All donations were dropped off and given to the Midnight Run Organization (Dobbs Ferry, NY), which directly helps the homeless in the NYC area.

“I know a ton of Pelham students have old winter clothing and the lack of that is extremely dangerous for the homeless,” senior Risa Schloyer, club Co-President said. “If we have extra, why not donate it to those who don’t.”

Midnight Run is an organization dedicated to finding common ground between the housed and the homeless in NYC. The Midnight Run coordinates over 1,000 relief missions each year to provide homeless folks with supplies they need for survival. At Pelham, the club has raised both funds and donations to bring to the center in Dobbs Ferry. From there, they get distributed in the form of care packages to the homeless people in the city.

If you are interested in the work that the club is doing, please contact Risa Schloyer, Grace Condon, or club adviser Ms. Lundy.
