……The boy’s lacrosse season ended early after falling short to Hendrick Hudson in the first round of the playoffs. Despite this devastating loss, the team completed the season with a winning record of 9-8. This included a statement win over Pleasantville who was ranked as the #1 team by LoHud Sports at the time.
…..Led by experienced coaches James Rodgers and Garrett Johnson and skilled senior captains Chris Franchini, Teddy Johnson, Callum Reen, and Henry Moderelli, the team is strong on both sides of the field with underclassmen and upperclassmen contributing to the effort.
…..“The team has been having a lot of fun playing with each other and we’ve gotten a lot better as the season’s been going along,” said Coach Rogers. “We’re starting to peak at the right time.”
…..Both Franchini and Reen achieved the milestone of their 100th varsity career goal. The team has played a tough schedule against teams like Scarsdale and Rye. After winning the section championship last year, there were high expectations for the team and it was a challenging adjustment losing multiple key players from last year’s graduating class
…..Another highlight of the season was a trip to Boston where the team watched college games and played a game against a skilled New England team
……“Boston was a great experience for the guys on the team to get to know each other outside of school,” said Rogers. “They had a lot of fun up there and improved.”
