This year, Pelham Memorial High School welcomes many new teachers! In total the school has welcomed three new teachers, who are of various backgrounds and have filled various positions. These positions include chemistry, Mandarin, and history. This new development is very exciting for the Pelham Memorial High School community.
The first of these new teachers is Mr. Santangelo. He is a history teacher and is teaching various subjects such as American History and Economics. Mr Santangelo said this about Pelham, “Everyone here at Pelham Memorial High School has been so welcoming. I could have easily felt like a fish out of water but much like Marlin in Finding Nemo, I have been scooped up into the Pelicans gullet and flown away on a journey of discovery. It has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am so grateful to the students, faculty and staff.”
The next new teacher is Ms. Wei, who is teaching Mandarin. “I am honored to be the Mandarin teacher at Pelham,” Ms. Wei said. “My journey into teaching has been filled with excitement and wonderful experiences. The support and encouragement from my colleagues and the enthusiasm of my students in class have made me feel truly grateful.”
The final new teacher is Ms. Dyakina, who teaches subjects such as Chemistry and Environmental Science. “I am excited to be a new teacher here at PMHS,” Ms. Dyakina said. “My experience so far has been truly wonderful. The warm welcome from my colleagues and the attentiveness of my students in class have made me feel like I’m a valued member of this vibrant community of learners.”
We hope these new teachers have a fun and successful year in Pelham. If you see them, make sure to say hi!
