The upcoming holiday break is certainly anticipated by the student body and faculty after weeks of continuous school days. 10 days off is a stark contrast to the busy school week, so if you are wondering what to do with your new cleared schedule try some of these fun activities.
Go out to the movies: With a wide variety of movies set to hit theaters mid-December or Christmas Day going out to the movies can be the perfect chilly day activity. Some movies to go include Wonka which comes out December 15, and The Boys in the Boat coming out December 25.
Go see holiday lights: Whether you stay local, like going to see the Kensico Dam Winter Wonderland or would prefer to venture off into the city to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, seeing holiday lights can be a magical and festive experience.
Host a holiday cookie exchange: Make different types of homemade cookies to exchange with friends or have a Gingerbread making contest. Not only can you experiment with different cookie recipes but you can also create a memorable, possible tradition, for your attendees.

Go Ice Skating: Participating in this classic winter activity can make for a fun outing with friends or family. If you want to stay local, go to the Public Skating at the Ice Hutch on December 23 or December 30 (1:10 pm), or you could of course go to the rink at Rockefeller, and see the iconic Tree.
