1) Gourmet: At our number one spot, we have selected Gourmet Express. This deli specializes in just about anything, including buffet style foods and sandwiches. The unique vibe you get from this deli is unlike any other and you will NOT be disappointed with anything you decide to eat. What solidifies the #1 spot for this deli is their freshly baked bread, specifically the ciabatta. The crispy bacon, warm eggs, and melted cheese all put in between the ciabatta roll will never make you rethink where to buy your bacon, egg, and cheeses.
2) Remi’s: Remi’s Deli is definitely one of the hidden gems in Pelham. For lunch, they have a good assortment of hot meals. Although it is decently far from the high school, there is always a place to park. The employees are always super polite and when you order at Remi’s, you will never wait more than 5 minutes for your order. The ingredients, presentation, and price make it hard to put at the number 2 spot, but some things have to be done. Although not our number 1 option, Remi’s will not let you down when you’re craving a classic bacon egg and cheese.
3) Mayimbe: A fan favorite during school hours and even more so outside of school is Mayimbe Deli and Grocery. Mayimbe (HD) does not lack on portions on their famous sandwiches. With its atmosphere and rich cultural influences, this deli is the perfect spot for anyone looking to indulge in bold flavors and friendly service. And if you’re lucky, you can hear the church music from the building next door. Mayimbe rightfully earns their spot at our #3 being a quality sandwich using fresh ingredients, especially the crispy bacon that leaves an everlasting taste in your mouth. However, if we were ranking based on their chopped cheese, which is a go to sandwich in the community, it would be ranked number 1.
4) Lenny’s: A name that’s gained legendary status in Pelham Manor, Lenny’s has been serving iconic sandwiches for years. Running the kitchen, Ms. Em has built up a reputation as debatably the friendliest member of staff out of any deli we ranked. The central location of Lenny’s, on the corner of the intersection between Pelhamdale and Boston Post Road, makes it a super easy location to go have a nice sit-down breakfast or lunch. However, each time upon visiting, the prices have gone up, making it a hard place to eat at without spending an unnecessary amount of money, especially when there is higher quality and lower priced bacon, egg, and cheese options nearby.
5) Wolf’s Lane Deli: Known for its humorous workers and as an easy bite during school lunch periods, Wolf’s Lane Deli has been working hard and making sandwiches since 1936. Other than the convenience, the Wolf’s Lane Deli’s bacon egg and cheese does not compete with the others. As we went to take a bite out of the sandwich, we noticed that the ingredients (bacon, egg, and cheese) were not placed in an equal manner. We were taking bites with either just bacon or just egg, and the balance between them was not something we’d want again which made it impossible to enjoy, thus garnering the 5th place spot with ease.
