Girls Soccer is about halfway through their season so far with 4 wins, one tie and 3 losses. They are led by Captains Allie Hughes, Abby Parker, Erin and Jamie Moscowitz.
“We are working hard everyday to become better team members and individual players. Pre-season was very challenging, so many good girls tried out, the team we have right now is very solid. All of our players are good at what they do.” Said Junior Oluchi Njoku. Oluchi has been on the team since sophomore year and is a key player with six goals in just the first five games.The team is full of hardworking student athletes, and all the work they put in shows on the field. “Everyone works so hard everyday and I have so much fun with my teammates. I think this season will be really good.” Said Senior Dari Jeffries.
One of their recent big wins was against Nyack, in which they were able to score 8 goals with only one allowed. The girls recently beat Blind Brook 1-0, with a goal by Senior Abby Parker. They also recently lost 3-0 to Rye, who are defending their state championship title. Girls soccer has a promising rest of the season ahead of them.
