Pelham Memorial High School’s Sock ‘n’ Buskin delivered a captivating rendition of And Then There Were None at the PMHS auditorium from November 22-24. This classic Agatha Christie murder-mystery was brought to life through the remarkable efforts of Mr. Beck and Mr. Schleifer, as well as many others.This classic murder-mystery takes place on a secluded island where ten strangers are invited under mysterious circumstances. One by one, they fall victim to an unseen assailant, their deaths following the eerie pattern of a nursery rhyme. As tensions rise and trust crumbles, the survivors desperately try to uncover the killer, leading to a shocking and unforgettable ending one would have to see to believe.
From the very first act, the play captured the audience’s attention, building suspense with every scene. The story was full of intricate twists, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats and guessing until the very end. Sharp-eyed viewers were rewarded with subtle details that hinted at the secrets unraveling on stage. The cast delivered standout performances, fully embodying their roles and creating an atmosphere so tense.
The production’s true success was its ability to surprise even those familiar with Agatha Christie’s work. Each twist and turn left the audience second-guessing, right up until the play’s chilling conclusion. “Working on ‘And Then There Were None’ was an amazing and energizing experience. As it was my last fall play, it couldn’t have gone any better. The talented cast, crew, and directors of Sock ‘n’ Buskin made it possible for this murder-mystery to come to life in an incredible way. I was honored to have a role in the show, and I was really proud of our performance,” said senior Liam Ginsburg. This was more than a high school production—it was an impressive display of hard work and talent that had the entire audience captivated.
Year after year, Sock ‘n’ Buskin puts on another performance that is nothing but amazing. Thanks to Mr. Beck and Mr. Schleifer, the young aspiring actors of Pelham Memorial High School have some of the best opportunities to showcase their talents.
