As the winter track season comes to an end, Pelham has had a very productive and successful season. Led by Coach Brown, Leighton, Marcotullio, and Nesi, the team should be proud of their hard work and achievements made during the season.
Senior Emmanuel Idowu had a 6.63 second finish in the 55 meter dash, the third best time in school history. Junior Elliott Levine also had a strong season, running a 10:56.02 in the 3200 meters to rank fourth in school history.
The girls’ team also had an impressive season, with Edie Albarella, Emma Bier, Amelia Blake, and Eleanor Condon anchoring the 4×400 meter relay team to a finish of 5:09.96, securing the sixth spot in school history. In the 4×800 meter relay, Sonia Brown, Serafina Lavallee, Riley Schindler, and Sadie Ashlock ran a 11:54.79, also earning a school top six ranking.
When asked about the end of the season, Senior Matthew Prisco said “This season showed how much we can accomplish when we support each other. I’m proud of what we achieved as a team.” As the winter track season ends, Pelham’s athletes and coaches can take pride in their achievements and look back on their hard work and dedication.
