Whether it’s in a class, on a team, or in a club, people of all age express themselves through dance. For the first time at PMHS, students have the opportunity to participate in dance at school. Senior Allison Palmisciano has started a new Dance Club to provide an outlet for students to pursue dance and develop their skills in a fun, relaxed environment.

Dance Club held its first meeting on September 17, and meets every Monday in Cafeteria A after Academy. Membership does not require any dance experience and the club mainly focuses on non-technical styles such as hip-hop. The club is based on the group’s interests, and doesn’t have a structured curriculum, allowing for participants to direct the course of meetings.

Dance Club serves as an outlet for students who are interested in dance but don’t have the resources to pursue the activity outside of school.

“I think a dance club is important because it is a staple in most high schools and colleges,” Palmisciano said. “Dance is also an activity that I find to be really fun and carefree even if we just listen to music and jump around.”

This new extracurricular aims to add diversity, creativity, and fun for students to enjoy and pursue at PMHS.
