The boys varsity soccer team had a great season, finishing with ten wins and eight losses, and making it to the second round of the sectional playoffs. One of the most prominent performances came from senior Jon Girolamo.

Girolamo plays midfield and forward. This season was his second on varsity, and he played most of it on an injured ankle. However, this setback didn’t stop him from excelling.

“[Jon] was a huge contributor all season. He was one of my go-to guys throughout the whole run,” said Coach Huvane. Girolamo scored three goals in their two playoff games. Coach Huvane also attested to his leadership skills, positivity on the field, and his drive to become a better player.

Junior midfielder Nick Cruz agreed, saying, “He gets the job done, brings up our morale, and he’s motivated. Jon cares about his teammates and went out of his way to make everyone feel comfortable on the team, especially the underclassmen who didn’t know what to expect on their first varsity team.”
