The Westchester girls ice hockey team, featuring nearly a half dozen PMHS players, was victorious in their premiere game. Their season started on January 9 as Westchester played Rockland at the Brewster Ice Arena. To ring in this new era of girls hockey in the Hudson Valley, former NY Rangers defenseman Colton Orr held the ceremonial puck drop.

Freshman Eileen Mazzaro said, “I think it’s cool that this team has been created to give everyone the same opportunity to play hockey. I am excited to see what the future holds with more girls teams evolving in Westchester!”
