PMHS is pleased to welcome Latin teacher Mr. Matthew Couture as the world language department offers him a hearty “salve amice!” (hello friend!).

Couture did not plan on a career teaching Latin. In fact, he was a marine biology major. However, when a teacher recommended that he study the language, he was immediately captivated.

When asked about how he can hopefully help reform and change the class for the better, Couture said, “ I want to teach more than just foundations; I also want to help my students understand what it means to carry on a 2000 year tradition of learning Latin.”
