The boys winter track team recently competed at the Westchester County Championships and the Class B Championships. County championships is made up of every team in the county, while Class B Championships has some Westchester schools and schools from Rockland County as well. At County Championships, key performers were sophomore Thomas Shelton, who finished 2nd in the shot put finals, junior Conor Matz who placed top 65 in the 55-meter run, senior Damien Franks who placed top 50 in the 300-meter run, and junior Ethan Paragas who came in 22nd in the long jump, and 10th in the triple jump. Class B Championships saw many personal best finishes for the Pelicans. Junior Gian Carlo-Riehl placed 11th in the 1000 meter, sophomores Stephen Liaskos and Ben Levine finished 5th and 7th in the 1600 meters, and junior Aidan Kiernan placed 5th overall in the long jump finals as well as 18th in the 55-meter run.

“This season many people on the team ran, jumped, and threw personal bests. For most of us we will be moving onto spring track,” said sophomore Teddy D’Angelo.
