With a 6-8-2 record, the team has proven they are a force to be reckoned with in Section 1 hockey as playoffs begin on February 21. This season the Pelicans have been playing against teams who are highly ranked in the state.

One of the team’s biggest wins was against powerhouse North Rockland. Last season they suffered a loss to North Rockland, and this season they were able to battle for a 6-2 win. After graduating a few key players last year, the team has been relying on younger players to make plays, which is different from what many other teams do.

“We have had a different team this year compared to last. One example is our starting goalie in his first year as a starter. He has been standing on his head for our team and keeping us close in many games. Despite this, we have been performing well against the level of competition we have played,” junior Michael Mitrione said.
