In her third season on the girls varsity basketball team, junior guard Brooke Gates has been contributing well to the team’s success. This current season, Brooke is averaging 10.6 points per game. She has had 38 total rebounds and 22 assists in this year’s season. The girls varsity basketball team currently holds a record of 10-9, and are one game over 500. Playing basketball since kindergarten, Gates has a long history of experience in the sport.

“I have been playing basketball since I was a little kid and I enjoy playing it at every single chance I get. Playing for my school’s varsity team has been an unforgettable experience and I hope to help my team win in any way I can,” said Gates.

The girls varsity basketball team has one game left in the regular season, and she hopes to help the team, in the long run, to win more games.

“Brooke is usually unflappable. She has the right kind of attitude for a point guard. She is also very coachable. She’s open to constructive criticism and doesn’t internalize or personalize. She takes coaching and strives to be better,” coach Pitrulle said.
