As seasons are being postponed, many student athletes at PMHS are being prevented from staying fit by their usual means, even though it is for the best. The girls varsity Volleyball team has been holding open gyms as a way to practice and maintain a good team relationship. They aren’t the only varsity teams to be doing this as girls and boys varsity Basketball teams are also hosting open gyms.

Senior captain Natalia Cherner states, “It’s really helpful to be able to play as a team together since the majority of our team is rising from junior varsity. With open gyms we can see how we play as a team and figure out what works best, especially now since it looks like we won’t have a preseason before the March season begins.”

The open gym is only open to members of the varsity team, but this could potentially change if COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Practices are once a week as of now.
