Along with the other additions to the staff, PMHS welcomes ChengCheng Zhu as the new Mandarin teacher. She will be teaching all Mandarin classes from grade 6 to grade 12 as she is the only Mandarin teacher in the district. Mandarin is her first language, and she expresses her joy in teaching the language and culture to eager students.

When asked what she is most looking forward to at Pelham, Zhu said, “It’s the students! They are amazing! My students are just the best. They are kind, funny and smart. To be honest, it’s not easy to start at a new school, but at the end of the day, I feel it’s all worth it for them.”

As for future plans with the Mandarin classes, Zhu has expressed interest in planning a trip to China and any opportunities that will allow further education in Chinese culture.
