It is with great sadness that Pelham Memorial High School announced the passing of beloved librarian assistant Patricia (Pat) Reynolds on September 8, 2021. Reynolds worked for 20 years (1983-2013) and continued to come back to help the  library staff for years after. She also served as a substitute teacher, exam proctor, and tutor to many students in a multitude of subjects. Reynolds supported multiple student organizations, such as Sock-n-Buskin as treasurer.

She spent her final days in her home in New Milford, CT at the age of 78. She loved to spend her summers on Candlewood Lake in Connecticut, reading along the shores or taking her grandchildren on boat rides. Some of Reynolds hobbies included reading, gardening, ballet, opera, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, chats over coffee cake and most notably, laughing which she did often and loudly.

She devoted her life to being the best mother possible to her children, being a scout leader for the Boy Scouts of America, and an active member of the Pelham PTA. She also volunteered her time at the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, was a member of the Pelham and Scarsdale Women’s Clubs, and helped out at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham and Our Lady of the Lake Church in New Milford. Reynolds was an avid member in our community and she will be dearly missed.

She graduated from the Academy of Mount St. Ursula in 1960, furthering her education at Good Counsel College where she graduated in 1964. She continued her education at St. John’s University, earning her Master’s of Arts degree in English and becoming a certified English teacher in New York State.

Reynolds served as a researcher for Forbes Magazine and worked to set up a library in Greenwich Village. Here, she met and married her husband, Timothy Reynolds, until settling down in Pelham Manor where they raised their three sons.

A service was held for Pat at the Pelham Funeral Home on September 13, 2021, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on September 14, 2021. Memorial Contributions can be made in Memory of Patricia Reynolds to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Office of Development at P.O. Box 27106, New York, NY 10087.
