Senior Thomas Shelton has been the super star of the Football team, dominating the game by leading the team to an impressive 4-0 record. Shelton, a team captain, led the team by getting two out of the three touchdowns on the Friday, September 24 game against Clarkson North. In addition, he led the team with 93 rushing yards, and 47 receiving yards as the team’s running back. With seven total touchdowns, he has the team record this year. This is Shelton’s third year on the varsity football team.

“My favorite part of football is the bonds and the community I create with my teammates,” said Shelton. This has been one of Pelham’s best football seasons, as they won their first colonial cup for the first time in 15  years.

This year’s team is showing great success, as their undefeated season is a large improvement of the 1-3 record in the year prior.  Shelton, having optimism for this season, said, “It certainly won’t be easy to keep up the record but if there was any group capable it’s this group.” Shelton has not received any offers to play for any college or university, but he is still open to the new possibility. With the football team’s next game against Tapan Zee for homecoming they hope to keep up the good work. After Tapan Zee there is one more game away at Rye, and they are gunning to be in the play-offs.
