Letter to the Editor: “Baguettes, Beret, and Betrayal”

To the Editor,

In response to the article, “Baguettes, Beret, and Betrayal,” I just wanted to say that I completely agree with the writer. Although COVID-19 is a big risk, I think everyone should have had the choice to go on the trip to France. Especially with the mask mandate lifting, and many people are still traveling, I think the decision of the school board was extremely unfair to everyone. The trip should be extended to spring break because the Covid-19 circumstances are much safer now. If one was very worried about getting Covid-19, I think they would not have signed up for the trip. Overall, I think it was selfish of the school to cancel this trip for all of the seniors. They have been in French class with Mrs. Livaditis for many years now and have probably had enough with COVID-19 along with the rest of us. Right as everyone is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, the seniors and Mrs. Livaditis just had another thing canceled once again, and it is just very disappointing.
