The varsity girls volleyball season has ended their regular season with a 7-5 record. They had a dramatic comeback win in a game early in the season against John Jay. They were down two sets to zero and won the next three sets 28-26, 25-21, and 15-12 to win the game.

This team lost many seniors last season, so they have a lot to learn and improve upon. They are led by captains Tiana Richardson and Bailey Katz, and coach Mark Finegan. The captains are a big part of the team on the court and in the locker room. Richardson was nominated for Lohud Player of the Week for the week of September 19. The captains and coaches help motivate the team, as they hope to improve upon their season last year.

The team has one goal in mind, and that is the section championship. They are going to have to work for it.

“We’ve been working hard every day to get better,” said coach Mark Finegan.
