The boys varsity swimming team has begun their season. They had their first practice on November 14 and their first meet was on December 9. The 15 players on the team are led by coach Chris Driwinga, as well as captains Junior Matthew Michailoff and Senior Andy Wang. The team practices 4 times per week at Sarah Lawrence College, where they also host their home meets.

This season has been an adjustment compared to last year. They had to replace many seniors with underclassmen, and the team was moved up into a very competitive league. Michaloff said, “It’s going to be a challenging adjustment, but we have a lot of depth on our roster, and I believe that we’ll find success throughout the season.” Swimming is one of the few high school sports that assemble leagues based on skill as opposed to school size, so the team will face different schools this year with higher skill levels. “Our goal is seeing how we match up to the other team and trying to get as many wins as possible,” says Coach Driwinga.
