By popular demand, the build-your-own wrap station is back at the cafeteria. The station has not been available since before the pandemic, so upperclassmen who experienced the station in its prime are particularly appreciative of its return. The station has an assortment of toppings and considerable vegetarian options as well. However, the buffalo chicken is not available which is very disappointing.
Besides this change, many of the cafeteria options have changed since last year and variations have been made to pre-existing ones. Here are the top five current cafeteria lunch options.
Tacos: The tacos have been stepped up recently, frequently offering multiple different fillings and toppings. They are flavorful and very filling. However, there was recently an interesting flavored meat, which was kind of offsetting.
Chicken Sandwich: The chicken sandwich, particularly the spicy variation, is a reliable option and one of the best at the cafeteria. They have them available everyday, which makes it so reliable. However, I find these to leave me hungry tbh, so if you tend to have a bigger appetite, you will definitely need more food. When they offer it in the main lunch line with toppings, it is much more fulfilling.
Mac and Cheese: The Mac and Cheese is another solid choice at the cafeteria. It has a great creamy consistency and a nice flavor. However, there have been times when it has been dry.
Pizza: The pizza served at the main lunch line is a solid choice. There are several options for toppings including cheese, pepperoni, or chicken. I prefer this pizza more than the pizza served daily. Again, if you tend to be more hungry, this may not be enough food.
Nachos: The nachos have been a consistently good choice for many years. The toppings are great and the combination makes for a flavorful meal. The nachos are filling, and sure to continue as a fan favorite option.
As I mentioned in my last review, there are many great options for snacks as well, including the chocolate chip cookies, the black and white cookie, Flamas Doritos, and carrot sticks to name a few.
