The class of 2026 held their version of the annual senior talent show on both Friday, February 6th and Saturday, February 7th. The event was a spectacle that consisted of seniors showing off their talents and humor through a variety of media forms; many pre-recorded funny skits that featured jokes about Pelham teachers or played parodies on social media trends, while others performed live talents and skills, such as dances, vocal performances, and two performances from senior band 7th Avenue (Samantha Bonnano, Max Halvorson, Arman Brummett, Will Russello, Samantha Chalissery).
The event has consistently been a way for seniors to raise money for their pre-graduation senior prom, while the class of 2027 used their bake sale as a way to raise money for the junior prom. Such events are exciting and entertaining ways for classes to have flexibility for prom expenses and remind students of the support the community has for their talents and passions.
Both nights had amazing turnouts, with almost every seat in the auditorium filled by smiling and laughing guests, including parents, staff, and students from other grades. The considerable amount of skits and segments allowed for a large portion of the senior class to participate, each showing a different area of expertise, humor, or entertainment.
Kiran Schwaderer, a senior who – alongside Anjali Shekher and Samantha Chalissery – performed an exciting and impressive Indian dance, said, “I loved performing a Bollywood dance for all of the teachers and friends I have been with in PMHS over the last four years.”
Senior Bobby North, who also participated in skits for the talent show, said, “This year’s senior talent show was truly something amazing. Being a part of some of these performances and hearing the enjoyment and laughter from the audience and from peers all helped make the nights all the more memorable.”
The event seemed to be a resounding success for both the class of 2026, that spent time crafting and rehearsing the skits that spectators were able to see mastered on the day of performance, and for the class advisors Mr. Sirico and Mrs. Waters, as the turnout for their class’ fundraiser is sure to be a strong factor for more exciting senior events in the future.
