The 2026 season has brought its challenges for the boys’ varsity swim team, but the group has responded with effort, unity, and measurable progress in the pool. The team earned its first meet win against Eastchester on January 20th, giving them confidence going into their league championship meet on January 31st. At the meet, the boys showed their dominance and versatility, winning every event and multiple personal best times. Being a part of League 1, the team has been faced with the challenge of school size, and has done its best to keep up with these big teams with lots of natural talent and ability.
At their league championships, the team was prepared after a long season of training and was able to put seven personal bests and 2 season bests on the board. They got 9th in the 200 medley relay, and had multiple top 20 finishes in their individual events, from Evan Kaplan in the 100 breaststroke and 200 Individual medley, Conor Waters in 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Oliver Ashlock in the 100 butterfly. Junior Evan Kaplan will race his 100 breaststroke individually at the section one championships, along with Pelham’s 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams.
